What criminal certificates are presented
The application requires the criminal certificate from the country of origin and, depending on personal history, certificates from other countries of citizenship or residence from the age of 14. Italy is excluded from this foreign documentation.
Document validity
The Italian Embassy in Lima indicates that criminal certificates must have been issued a maximum of six months before submitting the application. It is advisable to coordinate the obtaining, apostille and translation so as not to lose validity.
Apostille and translation
Each foreign certificate must comply with the corresponding legalization or apostille and be translated into Italian. For files submitted in Lima, the translation must be prepared and apostilled in accordance with current consular instructions.
All countries and periods
Residences from the age of 14 must be declared on the portal without leaving empty periods. Before translating, check if you need certificates from more than one country and if the authorities issue them with matching names and dates.
New verification before the oath
Following a favorable result, recent documents may be requested to prove that the conditions are still met, including a criminal certificate from the current country of residence.
