The required birth document
The extract of the birth certificate or equivalent document is presented in original, complete and with personal data. It must include the affiliation and all the annotations that appear in the record.
Recent broadcast
The Embassy recommends that the document have been issued no more than six months previously. Requesting a recent copy helps keep records and registration information up to date.
Consistent names and data
The data entered in the portal must match the birth certificate and other documents. We review names, surnames, places, dates and notes before preparing the translation.
Apostille and translation into Italian
The document must be duly legalized or apostilled and accompanied by its translation into Italian. In Lima, the consular formality indicated for translation must also be followed.
Subsequent destination of the record
After the decree and the oath, the original birth certificate can be sent to the Italian Comune of reference for transcription.
